What Do Fat Chihuahuas and Water Balloons Have In Common?

Somehow, it's July already. How? No idea. But that means it's time for some recap action! Here are some highlights from Q2:

We grew!  Annie joined the Marketing department, Emily is our newest Account Coordinator, and Ashley and Chas are coding up a storm in Web Services. 

We also launched eight client websites and added 94 users to Forgely. Not a bad second quarter, if we do say so...

Remember in our last newsletter when we said we had a really cool surprise? No? You forgot about it entirely? Well you're in for a treat...

TA DAAAA, we have a new website! (Everybody, now: "Oooooooooooooh, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!)

We are pretty excited about it, especially because it should make your experience with us even better.

And speaking of experience, Accounts Director Lauren Henderson has gone all in on overhauling our customer experience program. You may have noticed a few more surveys than usual coming out of the ol' Coalmarch offices, and all of your input has made a major impact on how we work with you and how we'll work with future clients. So give yourselves a pat on the back - ya done good!

Q3 spoiler alert: The mustache...it is gone.

Fact: We couldn't give you a solid experience if we didn't constantly work to be better at what we do. So in May, marketing superstars Jessica, Jay, Lee, and Liz spent a full day sharpening their SEO skills at the 2017 Raleigh SEO Meetup Conference. Analytics wiz Lee also continued spreading the good analytics word by speaking at The Raleigh SEO Meetup tools debate.

And finally, because SEO jargon and coding speak don't really have a lot in common, Jay, Emily, and Maggie signed up for coding classes at the Iron Yard! Their efforts have helped to build a little extra harmony between the marketing and development departments. 

If that all sounds geeky...well...that's because it is. And we wouldn't have it any other way. 

That said, we do like to mix a little fun into our geekery, so we celebrated spring by taking every chance we could to get outside.

We swung on trees for Arbor Day, we volunteered at Raleigh City Farm, we brutalized a pinata for Cinco de Mayo, and we had our first-ever Coalmarch Field Day, where we pelted each other with water balloons, played tug-of-war, and, in the case of the photo at right, carried each other across treacherous expanses of...well...grass.

So what's next?

  • Maria Mayorga, our Director of Strategy, is spending this week talking to pest control pros about digital recruitment in New Jersey and New York
