Cary, NC (February 18, 2009) — Coalmarch Productions® a leading service provider for online solutions, recently hosted an event sponsored by the Durham Drupal Meetup Group. On February 10 approximately 22 local web developers interested in Drupal technology were provided presentations and participated in open discussions.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the meetup. It was great to meet some people in the area who are working with similar technologies,” said Allen Freeman, meetup attendee. “Both of the presentations were well structured and on very useful topics.”

Presentations on Drupal were provided by Jeff Carcillo and Technical Lead for Collaboration Solutions at Zaloni, Ben Sharma. Jeff gave a walkthrough on Drupal theme building. Ben then led a discussion on Drupal search options; discussing in detail the benefits and limitations of Drupal’s built-in search, Views-based search, Google search and Apache Solr.

“There is a growing number of Drupal users in the Triangle, and Coalmarch is excited to be involved in the nurturing of a strong, professional community based around Drupal,” said Sheena Donnelly, a Web site designer at Coalmarch. “When users and developers of all levels and backgrounds are able to converge and discuss mutual problems and topics of interest we all get the opportunity to find new solutions and ideas that we may not have found on our own.”
