The Namesake Story

So far….

We’ve got a unique name and Clients often ask where it comes from. You see, its not just a name; it is a story about our philosophy, where we came from and what we want to accomplish.

Back in the days of the dot com boom there were all kinds of companies with names like “InventoTechGlobal” or “MergeMediaMatrixFive” and the like. We knew we wanted to build a company that could compete with and offer what all these companies claimed they could; but we wanted to bring a different sort of feeling to the scene.

All too often in technology driven fields, website & software Programming, media production and the like - the verbiage seems to imply an elitism or academic air that can alienate or intimidate Clients looking for help. We feel like the invitation-only super-secret-club language drives people apart, rather than bringing them together for a common goal. We are not only opposed to this separation, but we rally against it to our very core. Sure, we can provide you with the most technologically advanced solutions custom tailored to your needs - but never at the expense of alienating our separating our common desires of building things that work well.

With this philosophy in mind, we wanted a name that embraced a feeling of “blue collar ethic” applied to website Programming, Software Development and media production. Back in the days when coal was being mined from the earth by human hands, there were shift changes. During this brief moment at dawn or dusk one could glimpse a crew of miners coming up out of the mines covered in soot and sweat, juxtaposed against a team of fresh miners descending for a long shift under the earth. These two groups of people passed each other silently exhausted from effort and intent on completing the tasks at hand. We call this the “coal march”, a parade of human ingenuity, hard work and determination.

This blend of mind and matter, hard work and determination is what we want to evoke when people think of us. We apply our knowledge of technical complex systems to solve problems in a simple and logical way. We’re not happy unless we are carrying the weight of the load for all our Clients, offering them our time, energy, and expertise to give them exactly what they need.
