Recreational Time Spent Well Biofilm for Mac

Noodling through the Apple Downloads feed the other morning this little gem caught my eye.
The game is pretty simple in concept, you control a biosystem of cells with different archetypes in a closed environment to fight bacteria and whatnot.
While we don’t normally have time to play games around the office; we’d been mulling over the topic of whether or not to start up a Myth lan game for a few days so I decided to check this one out. I had my credit card out after about 10 seconds of playing this game.
It’s not a revolutionary concept, but the execution is so tight that you almost can’t believe that it was written by a student slash indie mac developer. This is exactly what I think the Mac experience should be. All in all it took about 4 hours to beat every level supplied in the game; factor in gas and munchies and you’re looking at a cheap replacement for a film at the cinema at $18 US.
For replay value, they’ve added a level editor which is a super way to sate the God Complex in all of us.
The developer “Battery Acid Games” (love that name) is currently using a clearing house for it’s retail operation but here’s hoping that by spreading the word they can bring that in-house and hold on to a bit more of the profits they are surely due.
Great job gang! Can’t wait to play the next one.
