Pexagon Technology was previously a brick-and-mortar only, retail vendor of Microdrive and Portable storage components based in Connecticut. Bridging into e-commerce sales, Pexagon had elected to develop their online storefront in-house. In the spring of 2006, they contacted Coalmarch Productions with some serious issues. Their daily visit rate had achieved around 150 unique visitors with page views just over 3000 and their network was suffering greatly from the strain. Their estimated monthly revenue at that time was around $1,000.
Project Scope
Coalmarch designed and developed a custom shopping cart solution for Pexagon that included Web site hosting as well as 3rd party integration with their accounting system, Everest. Particular attention was paid to a custom application Pexagon wanted to develop to allow customers to order miniature storage devices laser-engraved with personalized information. In order to drive online traffic, Coalmarch Productions leveraged the inherent search engine optimization features of CoalEngine combined with a moderate pay-per-click campaign.
Result
Since the re-launch of their web-based marketing initiatives, approximately 12 months after deployment, Pexagon Technology has achieved daily unique visitor rates on the order of 5 to 6 times of their previous amounts with revenue approaching $300,000 annually.
