What they do in the office
Eric has the task of keeping this place running and everyone working together nicely. Since Coalmarch has such a unique working environment and a staff to match (he just goes for it and calls us all geniuses), Eric has to fashion an equally unique management model. His goal is to create a work environment that fosters individuality, creativity and general quirkiness while also insuring that each team member is fanatically devoted to customer satisfaction and creating solutions. For this reason, he has taken on trying to change his title from CEO to CEC (Chief Executive Collaborator), but the jury’s still out. And just because Eric is all business, making sure that we always deliver the best possible solutions to our clients on time and at a competitive price while constantly improving our own operations, doesn’t mean that he doesn’t jump in on a good ol’ nerf battle now and again.
What they do out of the office
Like many parents with a young child, Eric has taken on the hobbies of his son. As a result, he gets to spend a lot of his time doing “fun things” such as visiting children’s museums, zoos, the Museum of Natural Science, fishing off the pier at Wrightsville Beach, working with tools, doing “speriments”, reading his son’s books and making up stories. When he’s not spending time with his son, Eric likes to write, read, sail and fly. We also think he might be spending a little extra time creating extraordinarily ornate and complex charts and graphs taking into consideration best practices, market trends, strategic planning and military metaphors complete with full color coding. Hey, if anyone can do it - he can.
